It was a bitterly cold winter day, and a woman came in holding a cardboard box. “I have a cat,” she told me. This wasn’t uncommon; people bring in cats all the time. But then I looked inside the box.Inside was a small, thin kitten. He was completely still… because he was frozen solid. Then to our surprise, the kitten blinked his eyes - he was still alive! We needed to move quickly to save his life.

The team and I worked feverishly on our new kitten friend. Over and over, we changed his blankets, slowly bringing up his temperature. Finally, he lifted his head and looked at me and that’s when I knew he was going to make it. For all he had been through, Jack Frost seemed the most fitting name for him. Jack is now safe in his furr-ever home.
